This summer I got together with good friend Janice for a styled Marriage Lake Elopement shoot in Pemberton, British Columbia. It was an incredibly successful day working with the local Sea to Sky-based vendors to create what would be the most perfect elopement for any couple, whether they’re a Sea to Sky local or first timer. Marriage Lake is located north of Pemberton and accessible via helicopter with the help of Blackcomb Helicopters.
We started the shoot at Pemberton Valley Inn where we joined our models (and photographer) Kaoverii and Callum for a fresh breakfast with baked goods from Pemberton bakery. Callum hung out while Kaoverii was assisted by Colleen for make-up and hair preparations, followed by a dress fitting with a stunning gown from Union Bridal.
By the time morning, preparations were complete, we headed to The Beer Farmers for a quick beverage. We were treated to smiles by onlookers and pups. A bride and groom having a beer at lunch must have been a rare occasion, particularly during a global pandemic.
After drinks we drive a mere 15 minutes out to Blackcomb Helicopters Pemberton base for our flight to Marriage Lake (which also happened to be my first ever heli ride). Thanks to our pilot for a smooth and easy flight with glorious views of Pemberton’s surrounding landscape. Marriage Lake remains to be my favourite location for elopements in Whistler. Are you thinking of a Marriage Lake Elopement?
Finding a beautiful setting for the wedding ceremony is hard enough. But with a new landing location at Marriage Lake, Blackcomb Helicopters is a no brainer. I am so happy to have an opportunity to take part in this beautiful elopement! I had so much fun being part of this beautiful day, where I was able to feature the services on offer by local Sea to Sky vendors, along with some amazing moments on camera.
