Carley and Al got married in summer at the beautiful Prospect Lake Community Hall in Victoria, BC. Picture this: a day filled with love, laughter, and ice cream, all meticulously planned by the mastermind herself, Carley, along with her amazing team from The Good Party.
About Carley and Al
Carley and Al, both Victoria natives, returned to Victoria to get married at Prospect Lake Community Hall. How did they meet? Their paths first crossed during their high school years, but it wasn’t until years later, through mutual friends and chance encounters at local hangouts, that their romance truly began to blossom. Despite the challenges of long-distance travel, their love only grew stronger, culminating in a heartfelt proposal that became the stuff of legend, documented by The Good Party. The Wedding Day Vision
For Carley and Al, their wedding day is more than just a ceremony; it’s a reflection of their personalities and shared experiences. They chose a non-religious ceremony filled with personal touches, from the presence of “beer boys” to the tradition of stepping on the glass at the end, paying homage to Al’s Jewish heritage. Their chosen venue, the Prospect Lake Community Hall, initially raised eyebrows, but upon seeing it, they knew it was perfect—a blend of elegance and affordability. They envisioned sunset shots at Whitehead Park, intimate first looks, and plenty of candid moments captured by their photographer, Kyle Joinson. The Film
When it comes to their wedding film, Carley and Al seek a blend of styles—fast-paced yet romantic, with a focus on cinematic landscapes and candid moments. What’s most important to them is that their film captures the essence of their relationship—the laughter, the love, and the joy shared with friends and family. The Wedding Details
Carley, being a wedding planner, brought her A-game to the table, decking out the venue in vibrant colors and playful details. From the groovy disco ball to the coordinated table decor with color-fading gradients, every corner exuded her creative flair. And with her fellow planner colleagues in attendance, you can imagine the reception was nothing short of spectacular. Kudos to The Good Party for pulling off the event flawlessly! Now, let’s talk about the feast for the senses. House of Boateng Catering served up a culinary extravaganza that had guests licking their lips from appetizers to desserts. And who could resist the sweet temptation of Hazel’s Ice Cream truck, dishing out delightful treats to keep everyone cool and content? But wait, the party was just getting started! With Beauty and the Beat DJ on the decks, the dance floor was on fire all night long. From heartfelt first dances to spontaneous conga lines, the energy was electric, and the laughter infectious. As I reflect on Carley and Al’s big day, I’m reminded of the timeless power of love. Theirs is a story of laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion—a story I feel privileged to have witnessed and captured on film. As they embark on this new journey together, I have no doubt that their love will continue to blossom with each passing day. And as they look back on their wedding day, I hope the memories we created together will serve as a beautiful reminder of the joy and happiness they shared with all their loved ones. Here’s to Carley and Al, may their love story continue to inspire us all!Vendors Video: Rachel King Films Photo: Kyle Joinson Photography Planner: The Good Party Officiant: Victoria Officiant Services Cocktail Bar: Twist Victoria MUA: Kreativ Beauty Dress: The White Peony Florals: Bespoke Blossoms Ice Cream: Hazel’s Ice Cream Catering: House of Boateng Event and Decor: Black and White Event Rentals, Trend Decor Event Design, Designer Weddings Victoria, Pedersen’s Event Rentals, Victoria Party Rentals YYJ, Party Mood, Structuur Designs, Tabletop Curated Rentals, West Coasters BC DJ: Beauty and the Beat DJ Transport: L.A.
